MotoGP Japan : Casey Stoner returns !

Announced via his blog, Casey Stoner will return for the Japan MotoGp after a three race layoff. In what will be his final year on the MotoGP circuit, the former world champion has not raced since mid-August after suffering a serious leg injury during qualifications for the Indianapolis MotoGP.

It was originally thought Stoner would return for his home circuit at the Phillip Island Australia GP race later this month, but he will instead be back a fortnight earlier. “I have spent a quiet week in Australia,” Stoner wrote on his blog. “I have been resting, doing a little physio and following doctors' orders in order to recover. “The good news is that I think I will be able to ride at Motegi (the Japanese circuit) and rejoin my team next week. I can't wait!” Though third on the MotoGP standings, Stoner will not regain the championship in his final season after falling more than 100 points behind championship leader Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing). Stoner’s teammate at Honda, Dani Pedrosa, is still with a chance and trails Lorenzo by a mere 33 points. Pedrosa won last weekend’s Aragon MotoGP ahead of Lorenzo to close the gap while Andrea Dovizioso (fourth on the table) came in third.
